I started CrossFit in 2009 while attending school in Boulder. While I did the big box gym thing since high school, I found myself looking for more from my fitness regimen. Once I started, I was hooked. I quickly fell in love with the program and community CrossFit offered. So after some time as an athlete, in 2010 I decided to start training others and got my CrossFit Level 1. I continued my coaching in California, and loved every bit of it. I love the recurrent training aspect of being a coach and believe it is a coach’s duty to continually learn and be able to bring new skills to our athletes.
My love for CrossFit has opened my eyes to the great sport of Olympic Lifting. After spending some time at a gym focused on Olympic Lifting, I was hooked. I believe it is a great way to build athletes both mentally and physically. This love for Olympic Lifting led me to start my track as a USA Weightlifing coach. After receiving my USA Weightlifting Sport Performance coach certification, I started coaching and helping athletes develop their lifts. This included helping lifters at Olympic Lifting meets achieve their best effort in only 6 reps. I chose CrossFit Thornton because of a similarity in training philosophies. I believe that excellent coaching, effective programming, and safety are the most important aspects of a gym. I found all of these things at CrossFit Thornton. I look forward to coaching at CrossFit Thornton and sharing my passions with others!
