What did you know about CrossFit before coming here? I did CrossFit in Florida for 2 months, and I knew it was a brutal way to get into great shape that people either loved or hated.
Why did you try CrossFit Thornton? I had just moved here and was looking for a CrossFit to join, not only to get back into shape, but also to meet people. When I found CFT and saw they had ways to help in the gym and learn more about the sport as well as work out, I jumped all over it. Best decision I’ve made!
How do you like our program? Our coaches do a great job programming, I really love the T2 Strength program, I have seen huge improvements since starting that training program. I also love the squat cycles (even if I hate them at the time).
What is the best part of being at CF Thornton? The community, no questions about that! Being new to Colorado, CFT kept me sane, introduced me to an incredible group of people and I know the coaches genuinely care about me and my life beyond the box.
Has your life changed since being here? My life has changed tremendously in many ways since joining, and all for the better. I plan a lot of my days around when I can make it to the gym and I have learned a lot about myself the past few months as well. I have learned that I do have upper body strength, something I never really thought I had having always been a runner. It has taught me that I can do so much more than I ever thought I could and that I am braver than I thought I was, in the box and outside of it.
If there were one movement you wish the coaches didn’t know, what would it be? I wish the rowing machine had never been invented. Or that the coaches had never purchased them…
If you could only do one movement for exercise for the rest of your life, what would you choose? That’s tough. I love the Snatch and Clean & Jerk even though they are incredibly challenging, but I think that’s what I like about them- they require that much more effort to successfully do. And Squats…When I am done squatting.
What are your goals for the next 3 months? To finally get a strict pull-up and to snatch 100# or more.
