What did you know about CrossFit before coming here?
Well, what “I thought I knew” was that it was really hard, probably not for me and that it was only for
people who were already really fit. Luckily, that is not the case and I decided to try it out for myself.
Why did you try CrossFit Thornton?
After an entire year of my husband telling me I should try it I finally just decided it was time. I noticed
so many positive changes in him (weight loss, more energy, a more positive attitude) that I decided it
was time to do something for myself and get back into shape after having our two daughters.
How do you like our program?
I LOVE the program at CrossFit Thornton. Our box has an incredible sense of community and I
actually look forward to coming in for my workouts.
What is the best part of being at CF Thornton?
The best part is the awesome athletes I get to work out with and the coaches. Everyone is so supportive
and I love how everyone encourages each other.
Has your life changed since being here?
I have been at CrossFit Thornton for 9 months now and many things have changed. I have gained
about ten pounds in muscle weight, I have way more energy on a daily basis and me & my family eat a
much healthier diet than before. I am doing things I never thought I would (pullups, handstands,
weightlifting, etc.) I witnessed the change in my husband 2 year ago and now it is so rewarding to
witness the change in myself as well. Incorporating CrossFit and healthy living into my daily routine
has made me a better wife, mother and person overall.
If there were one movement you wish the coaches didn’t know, what would it be?
It’s not something we do a lot…but banded running is one of the worst things I have ever done. Ugh.
Enough said. Aside from that, maybe pistols…seems that whenever I attempt pistols I can hardly get
out bed the next day or go up or down the stairs in our house.
If you could only do one movement for exercise for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
I would have to say burpees or wall balls. I always feel like I get a full body workout with these
movements.
What are your goals for the next 3 months?
My biggest goal is to get a muscle up. I really want to be able to do one!!!

First of all to my amazing husband Mark – it took him a year to convince me to try CrossFit and I am
so happy he encouraged me to do so. Thanks honey! You are an amazing coach and I love seeing the passion you have for Crossfit.
Jeff – Thank you for being a great coach and always pushing me to challenge myself. You take great
pride in educating and empowering us to be our best. One of my favorite things about the way you
coach is that you always emphasize good form!
Lawrence – You are an amazing coach and you have a knack of taking me “under your wing” when I
am struggling with a movement or skill. I am always thankful for the time you take to help me
understand something better. One of my favorite things about you is hearing you yell, “It’s time to be
awesome!” during the countdown to our WOD.
And finally to ALL the athletes at our box…you are all amazing! It is a pleasure going through this
“CrossFit Journey” with each of you!
