What did you know about CrossFit before coming here? Nothing really. I had heard of it and saw the “Shit Crossfit Girl Say” video on youtube (if you haven’t seen it, you really should). That really was the extent. Then I went with my sister to her gym in SC to see what it was all about. We did handstand push ups, among other various movements. I got home and felt really good all day and felt like I really got a good workout. The next day I woke up and couldn’t move my arms, like at all. I thought I had been doing pretty good with my “at home” workouts up until that moment. I knew I found something that would really kick my ass on a regular basis.

Why did you try CrossFit Thornton? I had been looking for a new gym to join, because I had lost all motivation to work out on my own and was absolutely not going back to my old gym, 24 Hour. Crossfit Thornton popped up on my Google search and I liked that it was in between my work and home, which makes working out after work great. So, I guess location was the main reason.

How do you like our program? So far, it is killer. I haven’t been able to be really consistent with my workouts because of work and school, but when I do get to go more than once a week, I feel great.

What is the best part of being at CF Thornton? It really does feel like “family”. Everyone is so nice and helpful and supportive and genuinely wants you to do well. There is no lack of compliments flying around, which really helps when you feel like you just can’t keep going.

Has your life changed since being here? Besides feeling confident about my workout and actually wanting to work out, I have noticed some more definition in my muscles. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m getting there.

If there were one movement you wish the coaches didn’t know, what would it be? There’s way more than one. But right now, I’d say wall balls are my least favorite.

If you could only do one movement for exercise for the rest of your life, what would you choose? I’m thinking Burpees, since those incorporate multiple muscle groups and don’t require anything more than your body and some floor to do.

What are your goals for the next 3 months? I really really really want to get at least one pull up one my own
