The CrossFit Games Southwest Regionals have started in Salt Lake City! Most of us will never make it to Regionals, but we can all watch and be inspired. It inspires me to be stronger and healthier, both for myself and for my family. CrossFit is so many things – hard, brutalizing, sometimes defeating, empowering…fill in with your own adjective. But one of the most important ones that comes to mind for me is ‘Healthy’. Since starting CrossFit about 3.5 years ago, I have become so much healthier! I don’t have any amazing story to share about how I am healthier, but I am and so is my family. I did read an amazing story recently though. It definitely validates how important fitness and nutrition are, but it also reminded me how important it is to listen to the signs and symptoms your body is giving you. Just because we’re CrossFitters doesn’t mean we’re invincible. It just means we can fight back harder. :)

The Cult of CrossFit

“If someone ever questions this sport and it’s ability to make you a better athlete and, more importantly, an even healthier person feel free to skip the lecture and just punch them in the throat. OR, be polite and ask them to a class. I guess. This stuff literally turns you into some low level superhuman with miraculous healing powers.”
