The Big Stage

It’s been 4 days, and I’m still running Regionals through my head. It’s the biggest stage that Bridget had ever competed on, and it’s the biggest stage I’ve ever coached on. It truly was something spectacular, in every way. She was treated like a professional all weekend- free massage therapy, free tape, free medical care.

Most of all, support. From the fans, from our friends, and from the staff. Everyone there (thousands) knew the pain each athlete was going through, and cheered each person on until the end. Every athlete knew what the others were going through, and cheered them on when they were through. Every coach knew what the other athletes were going through, and wished them luck.

This is the best damn sport there is. I’m honored to have gone.

So who wants to go next year?

If I learned anything, it’s that I want to be on the big stage. Either as a coach or an athlete- spectating just isn’t good enough anymore. If you think you have the skill, dedication, and heart to give the next 360 days to training hard and working together, there’s a good shot we may actually be able to go. That’s why I’m asking now, not in February. Training starts TODAY.

To the rest of our awesome gym, I appreciate any support you have for us this month while Lawrence is gone- you may see me sleeping on the couch at some point, but I couldn’t be happier here. Let’s keep this awesome train rolling.
