Role Models

We all have role models we look up to. Whether it’s an athlete, a celebrity, or our parents, we all hold them on platforms in our minds. We strive to mimic them, to perform like them, to think like them. They are always untouchable and infallible to us.

Truth is, they’re real people like you and I. They are no different- they have their flaws and weaknesses. So what makes a role model different?

I think it’s heart. People with heart do things that others don’t. They are dedicated to their goals. They put in the work, and they aren’t willing to quit.

Anyone can be a role model. I’d bet every one of you is a role model to someone, even if you don’t know who that is.

This weekend, while recovering in between workouts, Bridget was sharing an ice bath with Tiffany Hendrickson (who won the Southwest Regional competition this past weekend). Tiffany said, “I’ve wanted to quit CrossFit before, it’s so hard. But I’ve had people come up and tell me ‘You’re the reason I CrossFit’, and it totally blows me away.”

Sometimes the role models don’t even know they are one.

Be the role model, and live with heart.
