It is with a mixture of sadness and pride that we are making this announcement today. Our coach, and friend, Jeff Stanek has decided to move on. Sad, because we will all miss Jeff’s antics, his passion for the Olympic lifts, and just…Jeff. Yet we are proud because Jeff is taking an exciting new step forward in his life. To be clear, there is no ill-will, anger, or any specific event that led to this decision. As many of you know, Jeff took a full-time job at ZenPlanner and has spent the past two months evaluating everything that is on his plate. It wasn’t an easy decision, but after much thought Jeff determined time spent working with athletes was too important to him not to give his all.

I cannot thank Jeff enough for all the hard work, time, and effort over these past two years. Many of you got your first exposure to CrossFit, competing, or the importance of perfect movement through working with Jeff. Without Jeff we wouldn’t have gone on to start this Olympic Weightlifting path, and CrossFit Thornton would have been just another run of the mill CrossFit box. Our mission and vision is due in no small part to what Jeff did here, a vision which has inspired several of our members to pursue their own coaching path.

It truly is sad because we are losing a great guy that we all enjoyed being with very much. Jeff, from the absolute bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you have done for us at CrossFit Thornton. You will be missed.
